Calculate Twist Rate, Bullet Length and Muzzel Velocity for optimum bullet stability

Enter your data - leave the box blank that you want to find. You can save this to your computer and it will work offline.

problem is there always seems to be an exception... Example according to everything I have been told i should not be able to shoot a 460 grain .503 conical .961" long from a 1/48 twist effectively.

This bullet is extremly accurate from my 1/48 twist TC Renegades further I am not suppose to be to shoot a .452/300 grain Gold Dot in a MMP sabot from the 1/48 twist either yet they are extremly accurate from both my 50 cals and 54 cals.

I guess you just really have to shoot them and see - but it is good to have some baseline information.

But everytime we come up with a rule - there seems to always be questions... Makes Semisains 10 rules of ML more amd more accurate.

Here is what I got for some of my Bullets. I did not count the plastic tip in the length. The are so many variables and I have just started to track this but I can start to predict the accuracy for my Omega.

There are also several formulas, the velocity you are achieving controls which one should be used. Lee

According to my 777 calculation chart 1490fps for a .400/200gr bullet would only require 44gr of powder. that is way too slow for that bullet.

I am shooting the XTP version of this over 110 grains of T7-2f @ 2100 fps at the muzzle - it really seems to shoot and work well at that velocity.

I shoot the SW at 2100 in the Triumph and 2250 in the Omega. The Greenhil formuls as modified by the military [I have the program] gives me 2400 as the ideal velocity. As the 200gr SW and the 200gr XTP are the most accurate bullets in both guns consistantly that any thing over 2100 should work ok, I am hoping that the new powder will add some velocity and maybe some to the long range accuracy[ some time especally when there is a bit of breeze my groups open up some at 150 yds I would like to be able to keep a minute of angle out to 200yds .
