Scoping your ML
 

What scope do you guys prefer on your muzzleloaders?

My preferrence would be for a simple 3-9 x 40 Leupold Rifleman. I assume it would stand up to the recoil just fine. I shoot Leupolds on my .300's and 30-06's regularly and have never had a problem from V-x1 and up.

I just think that a simple scope would work pretty well since the ranges are fairly close, say 250yds at most.

If I were you I would pass on the Rifleman. They were made in Japan-now I think they are made in China. Read the fine print. I also do not like the friction adjustments. You can get a lot more scope for the same money if you look else where. Or you can get the same quality for less money.

I have heard a lot of good thigs about the Bushnell 3200 scope. I believe it has positive click adjustments(not 100% sure), and the price is comparative. Tom.

I have had several makes and models I like my Nikon Prostaff 3 x 9 x40 Leupold QD rings and base.I bought the Team Realtree one looks nice on the stainless camo Omega

Yesterday I saw the Nikon Omega with the dots for $209 Blue and $219 at our local Sporting Goods store. I have the Leupold ML scope and it is great. I believe Cayaud on this forum recommends the Bushnell Dusk to dawn and they are priced right.

Only use Leupolds. Shotgun/Muzzleloader models on my shotguns/muzzleloaders... extra heavy reticles for hunting in timber/brush...

I use the Nikon Pro Staff 2x7x32 on my muzzleloader and slug guns.

I prefer the Bushnell Elite 3200 3x9x40 with the ballistic reticule. I have 4 of them on different rifles at this point including one my Tikka 300 Win Mag. I replaced a VXII 3x9x40 on the mag with this scope - i really do like the rain guard lens - pretty much eliminates the need for scope covers in rotten weather.

They are very clear and have a fast focus eye piece... 3.3" eye relief @ 9X and gets better as you back down the power level
