Leupold in terms of value have lost their allure in my eyes in recent years.I hate to call anything made by a company like Leupold & Stevens junk but in regards to the Rifleman the shoe fits[:o]. You'll be better served with Nikon, Bushnell, Burris, etc.

I have had great service from the Elite series of riflescopes.
