Default A couple of my babies

Guys some of you asked how to finish a stock. I usually put my 2 cents in but decided to finally post s few pics of some of my BP rifles showing the different finishes. In the pic with the 4 rifles, the top 2 are finished with a couple coats of satin finish polyurethane and the brass is blackened. The third one is a standard factory finished barrel and the bottom one is a factory finished Renegade. The top picture is a close up of the wood on my favorite flinter. Hope you can see them good enough. Looks like I will try and post the other pic in a separate post. Can only post one at a time.

Thanks Cayugad - I just like the way the T/C Hawken feels when I shoulder it. It fits me almost perfectly. Same goes for the Renegade. I just might take that one for bear this year.

I hunted bear with my .54 Renegade loaded with a REAL conical one day, and one day with a roundball. I never saw a bear I wanted but sure did think hard when I had a sow and two cub come in to a bait and I was in a ground blind not even twenty yards away. Although I admit, I had a Ruger Redhawk .44 mag with me as back up.

Cayugad - always a good idea when hunting bear; so you can finish youself off following an incomplete attack.
