I would concurr with those readings, from what I have shot from my Omega... 150 grains of T7 pellets is right at 2400fps |
RE: Omega,200gr shockwave Chony data
WOW!!! those things are really moving. No wonder they do such a good job on animals from the reports in on them.

Thats about what I get with 777-FF for 100gr I have not loaded more than 120 did not think it would burn much of it behind that light a bullet. Lee

The median value of 2032 is only 48 fps off from what the formula MV = 2518.4* X ** .344, where X= powder charge in g/ bullet weight in grains. Interesting that the formula doesn't use ballistic coefficients or anything, just bullet weight and charge, but it is pretty close to what was shot with a high BC ML bullet. Chap Gleason |

RE: Omega,200gr shockwave Chony data
Sounds good to me. Just bought a bunch of 200 grain Shockwaves in the blue sabot. Got to get my Encoresighted for them when the weather warms up..

RE: Omega,200gr shockwave Chony data
Yes thoe group size really opened up at 148 gr. I haven't had time to work up load in between yet.
|
RE: Omega,200gr shockwave Chony data
That surprises me.... that the groups would open up from 1.5" to 5" going from 100 to 148 grains. I would have guessed the gun would burn 130 grains and dump the other +/- 20 and the groups might go to 3" or so.
What is your barrel length, twist and is it scoped? I'm planning to adjust my sights for the 200SW and shoot the 200 XTP's for most range work this summer so I'm very interested in what your results are. |
RE: Omega,200gr shockwave Chony data
Omega thumbhole laminate, SS 1:28 twist, 4-12 Swift Premiere scope. I had the QLA cut and barrel recrowned. Lead Sled w/25lbs
