local WalMart prices still way to high

They must not be in too much need of getting rid of old inventory. Stopped in today and T-7 was reduced from $26. to $19. Very few bullets left, but they were only reduced about 10% from normal prices. No caps or primes on the rack. [:@]
I came home with only the two items I went for plus one bottle of raccoon urine cover scentthat was a bargain ($1.).

I guess it's just in the timing. I just purchased 3lbs of 777 for $21 tonight. There was still about 10lbs left. If money wasn't so tight right now because of us getting our house ready to sell, I'd have got it all. All the Pyrodex was gone though. It was marked at $5. I'm not like some of you guys though, 3lbs will last me a long time.

They did the same at my Wal Mart. After it turned into a Super Wal Mart they have too much shelf room They do not have to sell off inventory anymore..

Same here, been to five different stores and its 777 $19 and $13 for RS. No bullets to be found save for some maxihunters that are still $7/20. It seems that they pulled most of the bullets right before they clearanced stuff. Even the accessories are still overpriced.
One thing that has held true is that Thursday is in fact the mark down day, check your stores for new price reductions then.

Went in to Wal-mart here in Memphis area today and they had ALL the BP merchandise marked down (the red tags). Don't know if they're clearing out all the stock or if this is a regular end-of-season event. I do know I missed getting a Thompson Omega Z5 with a thumbhole stock (blue/black) for $184.[:@] They had them for $298 before Christmas. Just plain forgot to check on it after Christmas. [:@][:@]
This store in the Memphis metro area stopped selling guns this past year. Most of the ones here in the Memphis metro area have stopped, athough they do still sell ammo.
Be interesting to see if they sell BP stuff next season.

I had talked to a employee here at one of the Ohio stores and he said that they were instructed to not reduce the prices more then 8 percent. If the items didn't sell, they were to pull them off the shelf and put them back out next season. He said that they lose so much money at the end of the season from people coming in and buying everything discounted. I know 3 of the local Wal-Mart and Meijers stores here didn't even stock hunting supplies for this past season.

Doesn't surprise me. The first year this Wal-mart opened that had a rather large section devoted to merchanise. At the end of the season a lot of it ended up with the red clearance tag. Since then they haven't stocked nearly as much. I guess their renowned inventory control told them what sold and what didn't....and a lot of hunting stuff didn't.
