Just purchased a Triumph
Well I pulled the trigger and picked up a Triumph (Black composite with weathershield). Do you guys recommend cleaning the new barrel any different than if I were cleaning it after shooting it??
I am going to pick me up some Nosler Partitions in 260gr and the crushed rib sabots for starters.

I would swab/brush several timeswith a good bore solvent like Butch's Bore Shine to remove any storage packing lube (not your garden variety lube).
Then clean as normal.

When I got my new Triumph I first scrubbed it with hot water and soap then brushed it with brobze bore brush then scrubbed it with break cleaner then alk. then brushed it again. Barrel preseveritive is nasty stuff if you burn it into the bore. I believe thats why some people have trouble getting groups and getting the bore spotles when they clean; I believe if you burn it into the bore its in the pores of the metal to stay. Yuk. Lee

RE: Just purchased a Triumph
I helped a friend sight in his new Triumph last week. It really liked the 260 Poly tipped Knight (Barnes) bullet and 100 gr T7. The 260 Nosler with the same 100 gr of T7 shot very well. It has a lot of good features for sure. I have several ML rifles including an Omega's and I certainly do not need another one for sure. Today my wife said that now I gotta figure how to break the news that I have a new Knight KRB in the truck. Actually I don't think I mentioned my new Sako last year either.
