Homemade Powder Measures
I saw a thread somewhere on homade powder measures. I thought it was a pretty neat idea. So, here is my first feeble attempt at making one.

Any one else make their own powder measures? Let's see them!

That is really cool looking - now I may have something to do over the winter with all those deer antlers laying around.
What size hole did you bore in the antler? Any idea as to what ratio depth:volume would help as a starting point.

Bronko,
I used a 3/8 bit to hollow out the base. The base was cut on an angle.I didn't have much room so I went for a 45 gr volume measure (90 being my hunting load). I used an old carpentry term, "Better too little than to much." I went slow and measured the depth with powder and transferred the powder to a "real" measure until I hit 45. The pouring spout is oval to ease the pouring of powder down the barrel so it would be impossible to give a bit size and depth ratio to powder. Sorry[&o]
I cut the end of the antler tip off and rounded it down to less than 1/2 inch using a Dremelto use as a short starter. I also cupped the end to fit a ball.
Finally I used the Dremel to engrave the 45 so I don't forget. And I drilled a hole for a leather lace.
