I also shoot 80 grains in my Renegades, but I also shoot T7-3f - then I move to 90 grains in the GM-LRH barrels. The heaviest projectile I shoot is the 460 gain Bull Shop.

Would i be able to shoot sabots with a 1:48 twist barrel or should i stick with conicals and roundballs?

Thanks
You increase your odds for good accuracy going with sabot/bullets in the 180-300 grain range. The shorter pistol bullets worked best for me....like the Speer Gold Dots or Hornady XTPs..... right around 80 grains of powder.

I have found charges around 80gr in most of my .50 rifles is usually a good starting point. Not saying some rifle can't handle a lot heavier loads, but usually if a rifle is going to be accurate 80 grains will give decent groups.
