If you guys were to buy a new ML Scope would you spend $249.00 for the Nikon Omega or cough up $469 for a Leupold VX 111 3.5x10 40 mm. I have the Leupold on a 7mm mag and I know this scope excels close to dusk or dawn. I like both of these also for the eye relief. Also later down the road I could put the Leupold on any gun I wanted.
Thanks in Advance

Well if money is not an object, and you like Leupold.. why not get what you want. I have not used either scope, so you are far more qualified to judge which is better, and better suited to you..

Leupold VarX I shotgun scope...excellent scope for the money ($199 for the 2x7). More eye relief than the Nikon Omega, more field of view, lighter but smaller objective lens. It's easy to figure out hold over when shooting a ML out to 200 yards. Don't need circles IMHO!

Old/New that leupold shotgun scope 2-7x33mm looks like an excellent scope. Maybe Santa will get me one of them. I have a muzzleloader that would sure like to wear that... I never looked at a Leupold when I was scope hunting. I looked atNikon only. Leupold is agreat value. I read a couple sights that had reviews on the scope and it is highly recommended... thanks for the heads up.

For a ML, I'd be getting a Nikon Monark4X. I always carry my 10X compact binoculars when hunting. If I didn't carry binoculars I'd go with the Leupold variable.

I'm getting the lupe 2x7 shotgun scope for Christmas to put on my Pro Hunter MZ. It has the heavy duplex. I failed to mention that earlier. I already have one on my 12 ga. Just love it!

Normally I use a 2-7x32mm Nikon Pro Staff and have had excellent luck with them. But I always wanted to mount a Leupold on one of my muzzleloaders. I have an very old Leupold on a center fire and it has never been touched in 30 years and still shoots perfect. Perhaps I will forgo Santa and just buy it myself. Never could depend on the old elf too much for whatI wanted..
Have you seen it listed any where for less then $199.00

I forgot to mention I am going to put the scope on a TC Prohunter 50 cal.
I finally wanted to upgrade from my TC Thunderhawk that I got 15 years ago. It sports a Leupold 4x Shotgun scope with a heavy duplex. Thants one of the only thing I don't like. At 50 yds its ok but out farhter than that it seems to block out the target.

my brother has the nikon it is a very nice scope..but i would never pay that much money for it.i personally cant see a difference looking through the nikon or my $90 bushnell banner scopes that i have on my muzzleloader and rifles.
