NEF Stainless Sidekick
#1
My Dad bought me a New England Firearms Stainless Sidekick .50 caliber. I have shot it several times now. I have been using 295 grain powerbelts with 150 grains of Jim Shockey's Gold (3) Pellets. It is shooting very accurate touching bullet holes at 70 yards. I seem to have a bit of unburnt powder built up after just a few shots. I am thinking of going to a 245 or 223 grain powerbelt with 100 grains of powder to see if it burns cleaner. Has anyone had any experience with this ML? What loads seem to work best for you if you did? Thanks

It sounds like your rifle is not effectively burning all the powder offered to the projectile. This could be for a number of reasons like barrel length, primer, weather, or condition of the powder. I would just drop the charge down to 100 grains of pellets or better yet, get some loose powder, load 100 grains of loose and work your load from there. Why change bullets if they are accurate unless you are unhappy with their performance.
