shockwave superglides consistancy
#1
after shooting my shockwave superglides one thing i did notice about the bullets is that i could tell when one wasn't going to fly good. every once in a while there would be one that was easier to load then the others. most were real real tight, way harder to load then my knight (superglides in my knight needed no help to load) the superglides in the t/c needed a t-handle to load. but like i said, if one went in easy, it would be a flyer on target. anybody have any ideas why? has anyone else noticed this?

Don't see how. Clean or dirty barrel they acted like you were using different powder charges. Sometimes there seemed like very little resistance when loading then it was fine the next... I'd rather just use the MMP HPH 24s and I ended up using a different bullet over the Shockwaves since it would be rare shooting 100 yards or more.

What a coincidence, I was going to post something similar in reference to the super glides and loading. I noticed sometimes when I load them, they are loose and seem to "jump" the rifling when going down. It seems to me that when I use the black sabotS/W it is tight to load and seems to engage the rifling and twist when being pushed down. However, usually when I load a super glide S/W it feels like it has the rifling for a bit then seems to slip a few inches and catch it again and so forth until it is seated. Sabots do twist when being loaded don't they? It seems to me that if they "jump" when loaded, wouldn't they do the same when shot therefore makingthem somewhat erratic?

My Encore did not like theSuper Glides at all: Groups went totally to pot. The tight fitting black sabots and the red sabots with the 250 grain SST make my Encore shoot like a target rifle. Also tried the new three petal Hornady Low Drag sabots: In my rifle they are not as accurate as the tight fitting ones but accuracy is adequate for any kind of big game hunting. They wouldbe an easy to load second shot.

Not the first time I've heard of inconsistancy with the superglide sabots.
My suggestion would be to save the projectiles and have T/C send you some of the black MMP sabots.

My Omega loves the SG's. So did my Traditions I traded off. I've never noticed any fliers. Not to say they don't, I don't shoot an awful lot. Sighting in and Hunting mostly. I may shoot a couple times in the summer.....
