Default first muzzleloader kill and bull

Jared a good friend of ours was able to put a 300 grain xtp behind the shoulder of this small bull Elk at 142 yards . He got complete pass through .
The bull traveled 50 yards and dropped . Never seen a guy so happy !!!

Congratulations to you and your friend. Complete pass through at that distance with an XTP kind of makes one wonder if any bone were hit at all on the way though by that bullet. Also it does add a lot of credence to the ability of the XTP.

Congratulations, good job.

cayuqad, some of the XTP are excellant, they are usually designed for a particular gun and caliber I seen a write up on that someplace. Somedesigned for different guns like a bullet designed for a marlin 444 carbine and the one for a 44 special, there is like 14 or 15 hundred fps differents in the normal velocity they shoot at. A lot of people dont look at that when buying bullets. Lee

Great looking hunting territory. Some of the most gorgeous scenery I've ever seen has been in your state (particularly the mountains of the NE part).

No bone was hit , the bullet went between the ribs on both sides. That's the first thing i checked when we cleaned him . I though it was strange it went throught at 142 yards .

How do i post from photobucket and have the photos show ??

Thanks RobK.
