Was over at China Outlets last night:They have a200 grain .40 caliber SST/Shockwave bullet in a blue .50sabot.That .40 caliberlooks like a real rifle bullet, it islonger than the 250 grain SST.
Anyone ever use that bullet?

YES, its the best long range bullet I have ever use, the BC is .269 and they shoot very flat ,I have taken deer and boar with them, I have never recovered a bullet, even on the boar which was in the shoulder a long side the neck and came out the front half of the ham on the other side leaving about a 60 cal. hole. It has about the same SD as a 300gr 45 cal. I shoot them out of my Omega with 150 gr of RS [it is the most accurate load for them in that gun] and out of the Triumph with 110-777-FF. I have not shot anything but targets with the Triumph with them yet as I like the 250 Gold Dot for close range. Lee

Yes, I shoot that bullet out of a number of different rifles. They are very accurate. So far I have yet to harvest an animal with them. Not because I was not willing to, but because the animals were not cooperative.

This is their 10mm (40 cal) 200 grain in a tan (45) sabot, but they are not listing a 200 grain SST with a 50 cal sabot... could be an old web page also, but nothing listed right now.

Thompson Center markets a SST/Shockwave 200 grain in a blue sabot for a 50 cal.
Can you remember the tip color, as you can see SST's have red SW's use a yellow tip.
Just saw Lee's post - Lee are they SST's or SW's??. the last time I talked to the nice lady @ Hornady she said she could sell 200 grain in a blue sabot as it was under contract to TC. She said I could by the 200's with tan sabots and then switch them out...
Here is the current web page... is it outdated....

I've only recently tried the .50 blue sabot/yellow tipped .40 bullet Shockwaves and was pretty impressed by their accuracy and ease of loading in one of my Whites. With good shot placement on a whitetail - they should work just fine.

I have had excellent results with the 10mm 200grain XTP's in the blue sabot from my Umag @ 100 yards.. but @ 200 they do not hold group... how about shooting yours to 200 and see what you get... If I shoot the Speer 250's @ 200 yds - i can group them really decently - well decently for me.
I guess am thinking the blue sabot is just a bit loose for the .504 bore...
Cdad won't do it - has to be a conical - he is afraid he will be drummed out of DWB's ifn he shot "plastic"

sabotloader, I use the regular SW as I can use the sabot to, I have some I bought real cheap last year that were 45sabots I just throw the sabot away and put them in a blue sabot, it is the same bullet. Other than that I buy Regular SW and Xtp200gr 40cal.
The SW200gr group a lot better at anything over 150yds for me to I have shot the 20inch gong 3 times in a row at 240 yds with out a miss with the SW200 gr. Lee

Mike, intend to try some at 200 yards - just waiting for my friend Dave to setup a backstop at that distance. He did have one at 220 yards but it didn't fare too well.
Had hoped to shoot today but my eyes failed open at 3am - may not be in any shape to shoot later. Supposed to rain anyway.
