the .245 BC Hornady are the .430 - 300's. Makes sense it would be higher than a 300 in .452, though I don't know it would be that much higher. Hornady shows the .452 - 300's at BC of .20.

I found the published BC for Shock Waves somewhere when I wqas looking for it to see what the 50/40 200gr SW would do. It is one of the BC that I believe it does shoot flat. The Sectional density is a bit higher than most 300gr bullets to. I chorny the 110 gr load I like in the Triumph at 2200+ and the 150gr load the Omega likes is over 2300 along with the high SD that makes it the best 200yd load in my guns even though the longest shot I have made with a MZ was 180 and I did that with a PRB out of my Hawken which is a copy I made of the one in a ST Louis musiem. I never had much luck with 44 cal of course that was 7 or 8 years a go and the sabots have improved a lot since then. Even so one of the things that makes the 50/40 200 gr bullets so good is the velocity you can get as well as the BC&SD when you use a 150 gr load like I do in the Omega it averages over 2300 according to my crony; I get over 2200 with 110 gr of 777 in the Triumph, thats scooting right along for a MZ. But I still like the Gold Dotwhen I know I will be in a stand with a max shot of 50 yds and if I needed to I could nail one at 150 yds with the Gold Dot 250. Lee

Lem - well that explains it for me. When you wrote:

The TC site shows the 250 SW with a BC of .24, I didn't see (look for) the 50/40 - 200's.

It does surprise me that the 200 XTP's have a BC .199 and the SW .269 since I think they are the same bullet excepting the polymere tip.

Bullet shape has a lot to do with it a hollow point has more drag than a round nose. T he ratio of length to diameter is close to the 300 while the plastic point gives it the added BC like a spire point. I can hold on the top edge of a 20inch gong at 240 yds and hit it in the mid area thats pretty flat for a MZ, I have to hold almost twice as high to hit it with a 250. Lee
