Default Woe is me,no tags left

Second day of MZ season no tags left, Got buck and doe nothing special just good eating deer[ 100# 120# approxmate]now going to have to travel to an other zone to hunt thats about 70 miles.
Now for the stats. Triumph
load 100gr777-FF
250 gr Gold Dot
hit both in the same place, right over the top of the heart through both lungs.
bullets exit oppsite side, exit hole about the size of my thumb
both deer droped in their tracks and kick a bit.
Next comes a trip to zone 9 and then maybe to Nevada county for wild boar. Lee

Congratulations on the deer lemoyne. That sounds like a good load and you got to use the new rifle to boot..

You have a freezer full of good eating meat. And maybe some future hunts for other critters. Good luck.

I have taken a buck and a doe and still have 4 regular tags and 2 bonus doe tags. I bought Tyler his lifetime license The day that he was born and he gets the same # of tags that I do. He killed a doe so he has 7 tags left, but we don't need that much meat. We're working hard to get him on a good buck or that big six pointer that he missed earlier in the season.

Thanks guys
I really like the Gold Dots,I use the 300 before and it did well but I like the 250 better for deer, as soon as I am done
'processing I will plan a day or two in zone nine where I will use the 200gr XTP [40cal] as there may well be a long shot where I hunt there. Heres hoping for one more. Lee

I just got back from a scouting trip in the cedars. Not much for deer sign. Also the scrape I was watching has not been used. Still a little early for that although with the hard frost we have been getting that should pick up. All I saw were turkey. I could hear them out ahead of me on a hill and putthe sneak on them and then laid there in the leaves and watched them for about fifteen minutes with binoculars. No deer, but a lot of fun just being in the woods.

Good luck there Lee. It will be most interesting if you get to pop one with that 200 grain.
