RE: New to black powder, good gun for money

I got a Thompson Center Omega Z5synthetic r-hand thumbhole stock at Wally World for $300. I've seen them as high as $500 on some sites for the exact gun with that particular stock. Some don't like that particular stock. Or they feel the need to float the barrel. But personally I see no problems. (since Idon't shoot an awful lot) It really depends onwhat you need out of your gun.The range you'll be hunting, etc.Good rifle for the money. Made in USA with lifetime, hasslefreewarranty. If I have any stock problem I'll just send it in. I would buy a TC before a CVA. That's just my preference. CVA has some nice guns, but I think the TC's are put together better and nicer looking overall. Rolling Block rifles are nice too! All of this is just my opinion of course. Different people will always tell you different things. If you do decide on a CVA, get a break barrel. They're easier to clean and probably a little better than a bolt action.
