I have a new t/c encore. I was wondering what bullets and powder would group the best the max powder i will use is 100. But as of now I have been useing 90 grains of goex ffg, and shooting a hornady 240xtp in a t/c break away sabot. the groups are alright but not what i like with a muzzleloader. i get a 2 1/2 group at 60 yards, I would like to be touching bullet holes everytime. Also my muzzleloader will not shoot as good when i swab the barrel out after each shot, it shoots best when dirty. what would cause this, i have never had a muzzleloader that shot better dirty.
Thanks

It has been my experience that most all muzzleloaders shoot better with a little fouling in the barrel,I lick a patch run it down the barrel and then turn it over to the dry side and run it a couple times between shots.
Finding a load that your rifle is a trail and errow event you just have to shoot enough different loads to find it.
I have spent many days and hours working on a load that I was satisfied with.

Some of the guys have been finding some play between the frame and barrell on the Encore. Try opening gun and then see if there's any side to side play. If that's the problem there's a few posts about an oversize hinge pin. do a search and you'll come up with several posts. I was looking at the Encore and finally decided on a White after reading about both on this and other forums.

I shoot 150 grains of powder it doesnt have any more recoil. It doesnt hurt at all im 15 and i shoot it. I also use a 240 grain knight bullet this combo works great. At 115 yards i can touch bullet holes. U want 2 keep ur barrel kinda dirty before got out hunting it groups better caus eits comin out the same every time.

The cabelas extended range bullets are actually QT Polymer Spitzers from Precision bullet. Same thing with cabelas dead centers. Check out prbullet.com By the way I tried the blue tip bullets and they gave me a little extra range and shot excellent.
