Did some shooting with the deer creek .45 @ 100 yards today. 80 grains triple 7, 225 aerotip powerbelt and after 3 shots and a 1 1/2" group, i took the rifle back up to the house and cleaned it and adjusted the trigger just a hair before putting the rifle away until muzzleloading season starts. I have it sighted in dead on @ 100 and will be 4" low @ 150 yards. Im ready to go with this rifle.
Also took one shot with the cva mountain rifle .54 flintlock and was happy to see it dead center, But 7" low. I will take care of that tomorrow evening and try to get it dead on. That rifle too is shooting 80 grains triple 7. I put the first scratch on it yesterday when i took my 2 nephews and my rifle camping and it slid across a tree and made that ugly first scratch. I'll fit it once i have it sighted in. 4 or 5 shots with it tomorrow and it should be ready to go hunting with the deer creek. Hunting season is less than a month away, seems like time is draging.

Sounds like your rifles are doing well. As for scratches, well they just seem to happen. Actually that is the nice thing if your stock is just oiled, a little more sanding, some oil touch up and you can make all of that disappear.

thats what i like about my deer creeks stock. Boil linseed oil finish and its easy to repair. Tru oil is a pain in the butt to fix up when you scratch it deep. I swear, that first scratch is always the one that makes you feel like throwing up lol. The barrel even got a light coating of rust thanks to the Dew that was all over everything in the morning. Didnt take a tent with us. Just a fire, sleeping bags, rifle and a 12 pack of coors
Nothing like a beer on a nice cool night in front of the camp fire.
