A word to the wise.

When SHE says "you really don't need a flintlock", it's not a good idea to reply "I really don't need a wife either, but I have one don't I?"

FLASH! BOOM! SMOKE! - just like a flintlock!

Just kidding. What she actually said was "why don't you get one now, and the other one for Christmas?. What a woman!

Thanks, Cay...I'm sure glad you showed me how to do this...Good thing I saved the instructions....

I've been shooting a bit this summer, when my wife and youngest daughter get back from their trip, I'll try to post a few targets...

See, these things are more popular then anyone might have thought. Granted shooting the inlines is fun, but a flintlock is a blast. Actually I like shooting both. Although it is hot today, so the range timewill be a short shoot..

You got a great wife. That one is a keeper.

If you don't quit talking about the flint locks you will have me looking and in trouble again. I haven't got time to shoot what I have now.

It ain't ever smart to stir up more snakes than you can kill.

Well heres the kentucky @ 75 yards. 60 grains Triple 7, .010 patch and home cast .490 roundball. 1st shot i jumped the trigger and wasnt ready, #2 and #3 were off hand shots that measure 2 3/4" center/center and # 4 shot was my final shot while sitting on a log and using my possibles bag for a rest. So far i think im really going to just use triple 7 in this rifle. I used to use 110 grains fffg goex to get 1 1/2" groups @ 100 but im only using 60 grains here and shooting 5/8" inch groups if i measured off #2 and #4 shot. Im seeing lots of promise with this powder in my flintlock. I'll up my charge to 80 grains tomorrow and give it another go @ 75, but use my shooting rest this time so i know what exactly its doing. It sometime sucks finding new loads for your rifles. Makes it 4 times as hard to decide which rifle to take hunting lol.

I sawthis rattlesnakelast weekend up at my brothers when we driving to a new spot to bow hunt this fall. His body was a fat as my forearm. Huge snake for Pennasylvania. Chap Gleason
