RE: Accuracy problem

I have had some trouble also. I bought a Traditions Buckhunter Pro with a 1:28 (I believe) twist. I had pretty good grouping at the range. I was shooting 80 grains of T7 with 250gr TC SG Shockwaves. When hunting I went most of season without seeing much. The last couple days a doe walked within 40yrds of my stand. I had an excellent shot. So I shot, the deer flew right off it's feet and rolled once, got up and took off like a bat outta H*LL. I waited about 10 min. walked to where the deer was standing when I shot, and not one drop of blood! I walked the direction and erea it ran towards for a couple of hours following it's tracks to a cut bean field. There the tracks continued until it came to a road. The deer was long gone. The problem I am having is how could that doe get that far. If the shot knocked it down you'd think it would at least bleed somewhat. Is it possible I missed altogether (I don't see how at that range)? But anythings possible. I checked my grouping and it was right on. Could the deer have jumped and slipped causing it to roll like that?

Actually i had to have a gunsmith install mine. Im not sure if the stock design is the same, but my screws went in at an angle. With the cva optima, thats more than likely a hollow stock and will require a bit of work if the screw angle was like mine. Luckily i had the solid stock:D

Or a Slipover limbsaver is also an excellent way to go! Slip it right over your original.
I didnt read the original post but if it is a optima or optima pro its real easy to replace. I already had to replace mine with the concrete at the range tearing it up. Two screws in the end, screw into a plastic frame inside thepad. By the way, I ordered a cva pad from either midsouth or midway...cant remember. I think $9 and change and your in business.

I'd take that friend out to dinner. Its the least you could do lol. 45 or 50cal?
I would have him over for dinner with the first deer I shot with it, huge pot roast, potatoes, carrots, onions, lots of gravy--give him he gift certificate at the dinner. This is a meal any guy would enjoy. Chap
