Nice shooting buddy!

OK, I need some rings so I can mounta scope on the Lightning. We must havaa little friendly competition. Bring the Sako over too so I can match my lowely NEF to it.

SL or Cayugad, what hight quick release rings do you have for your U-M? I think I remember medium.

Thanks!

Cdad

I use medium rings when using the Weaver style base for a 40mm objective.

Do they make a QR base that will fit that new gun???

It was really nice to get out and shoot today....

The Sako is always ready... it already has a bushel basket of squirrels to it's credit this season... I could shot the .17 against your NEF if you thought that might be more equal...pssssst...

I have the Woodgoat modified Weaver bases to put on the Lightning. Won't the Warne Quick release rings work with these bases? The rear base can go either way.

They are correct in the bottom picture. Any Weaver style ring will work on those bases - the Warnes are probably the most reasonable choice for quality and price.

I dont know cascadedad but I'm thinking you should screw the breechplug in just a little bit further. ha ha. I was out shooting my lightning today with the 460grn BS with 80grns of trip 7 fff at 100yrds with my 1x pine ridge scope and I was shooting about a 2 1/2 inch group. I was not using any wad. I love both of my Lightning and I think you will too. Alot of difference in recoil between the Lightnings and the Ultra Mag.

you guys are nuts. Biggest bullet ive shot is 385 grains and 80 grains triple 7 and that was more than enough kick for me. I was also wondering about the breech plug lol.

That's the understatement of the year! 8+ pounds versus less than 6 1/2 pounds.

I got a set of the Warne Quick Release (high) rings tonight. Hopefully will get the scope mounted tonight. We'll see. If I do, I'll post pics. They didn't have any mediums. I'm just going to be shooting targets with the scope. I can't use one for hunting.

Looks like you need a flash guard for the stock right by the action opening. Either that or you need to stop chewing on it.

That breech plug does look a little odd, but I've never seen a white up close before.

You big sissy.
