Default Using your ML during rifle season...

How many of you use your ML during regular firearms season? I am just curious, as I plan to use my savage ML during regular firearms season this year.

Muzzleloaders are all I used for the past 15 years, modern or muzzleloader season.

I'm thinking about it since the majority of my shots would be less than 100 yards anyway. Plus I just think it would be cool to take my first deer with a ML and what better way to up the odds than to just keep on carrying it through rifle and dog season?

Most of my hunting is done on military property where high power rifles are not allowed. No, i do not feel under gunned with a muzzleloader.

I am planning to use my savage ML during regular firearms season for a couple of reasons. First I really enjoy shooting it. Two, I like the challenge of having to make one shot count. Third, I actually gain significant distance that I will be able to make a shot; out to 200 yards versus roughly a 100 yards with my 870.

All my ceterfire guns have dust on them. Heck I can't even remember when the last time I fired them.

Here in Indiana, we are a no rifle state for deer. We are seeing a lot of folks hanging up the shotgun and switching to inline.

Red Lion

Do not use the centerfires for much of anything these days... been all ML for several years now... not eve nusing the 222 that much for varmints any more - switched to a rim-fire .17 for that and 10mm 200 grain XTP's from a ML for some additional varmint hunting....

It is addictive....

Last time i shot a centerfire was 3 years ago at the target range. Been close to 7 years since i last hunted with a centerfire. Muzzleloaders are my passion.
