Default 3 years later and it finally fires

My ex bought me this classic arms new orleans ace .44 derringer 3 years ago for christmas and after getting disgusted with it and putting it in the closet all these years, boredom finally pushed me to doing some work on it. I has to file and smooth out the wedge pin hole because i never was able to get it knocked into place all the way and the nipple was 2 threads to short and would never pop off a cap. I got all those problems solved now by shimming under the nipple with some brass shim and now it fires perfectly. Im using my Musket cap system with this pistol. I use one of those pink plastic rubbery nipple sleeves and put it over the nipple and then my musket cap slips over it snug and im able to shoot #11s and muskets with the same nipple. Comes in handy when you're out of # 11s. I still have to rub a few more coats ofboiled linseed oil onto the wood grip and its done. Nice to finally have this thing put together and working. The pepperbox from classic arms looks like fun but after this one, i'll be taking a break until my rifle kit comes in.

Nice job, that does look fun. If it doesn't fire, you can always use it as a club.

Ruger Super Redhawk .44mag with 9 3/4" barrel and Bushnell 2-6X scope. This makes dirty harry look like a little girl scout in a pink dress.
