RE: CVA Wolf 209????

Pellets in general are the way to go, becauseif nothing else that they are much easier to load. Just drop the amount of premeasured charge into the rifle and that's it - add your slug.Although I have not tried them, Triple 7 makes pellets as well.

Unfortunatly, I have not taken a deer with them, so I can't tell you the how they work in the field. But, I load 150 grain charge in my magnum rifle and hit the target right on at the range.

Good luck and I hope this helps

I personally like that NEF better. You should look into it. I feel it will last you longer and be much more worth the little extra cash.

Buy what suits your taste, budget and what your gut tells you to get. Don't buy it if it's not what you've dreamed of. You'll regret it later.

RE: CVA Wolf 209????

I got one last year, and managed to put one on the ground. There was zero track job after a 50 yards shot. I shoot 100 grains of pyrodex pellets behind a 245g sabot hollow point XTP. I could NOT get tight groups out of this gunw/ PBs, and went back to the sabots. I didn't put a scope on it, and feel comfortable out to about 100 yds. I have not hunted for deer w/ a gun for 12 years. (bow only) so I didn't want to drop a bunch of cash if it wasn't something I didn't want to get back into. This is a good entry level weapon. There are better MLs out there, but this gets the job done for the few days a year I'm able to ML hunt.
