Default Remingotn 700 ml

Anyone else out there have one? If so what combo of powder and bullets do you use? Would like some suggestions on other loads to try. Thanks,

I have two a 50cal and a 54cal. So far the 50 cal likes 80grlooseT7 with the green MMP sabots and about any bullet in the 240gr range.
The 54 likes 100gr. loose T7 with the red MMP sabots and T/c mag express sabots and a 230gr HP XTP or 230gr Speer gold dot.

I did a search here and other ML sites whenI started looking for a load to start out with for the 50. Turned up loads all over the board from 80 to 120 gr of powders from T7 to Gorex. bullets from PRB to 460gr conicals.

I have two of em, a 26" and 24" barrel in 50's. They will shoot just about anything you want to put down them very accurately.

You will need to know that the Rem 50 has somewhat of a tight bore so you will need to use a thinner sabot. I basically shoot .451/.452 (45 cal) bullets from mine, while yooper uses a lot of 44,s in his 50. You will need sabots like a MMP-HPH-24, TC Mag Express, or Harvester (regular).

If you want a screamer for a bullet, the TC Shockewave (200 grain) with a 110 grains of T7-2f is a real performer, but as much as I shoot they are to expensive - so I shoot their little brothers, Hornady 10mm 200 grain XTP's in a Blue MMP-50/40 HPH sabot, you'll get somewhere around 2100/2200 fps and a ton of energy.

My hunting load has been a 260 grain Nosler Partition, but again because of expense I am moving to another very good bullet but a lot less money, a Speer 300 grain Bonded Gold Dot -> 100 grains of T7-2f in a MMP-HPH-24 sabot...

Like to tell you more but do not want to bore you and I gotta get out here to a trap shoot....

sabotloader - If you hit one of those clay targets going away on the rise with one of those conicals I'll be thoroughly impressed. Aim high!

If you could have seen what the wind was doing to those birds today - I was lucky to have a shot gun. Watching those birds they did everything that a fighter plane would do in a dog fight - EXCEPT - turn upside down. It was an adventure... and you must know what I mean...

Here are some of my search results.

Remington 700 50 cal load data.

I am shooting 110 grains of T7-2f with a 300 grain bullet getting very good accuracy and 1750 fps.

I shoot 95 Grains of loose 777 ffg powder & the TC 250 Gr. PTX Sabot.

90 gr. of loose Pyrodex and 295 gr. power belts

.458 (45-70) caliber 300 grain Nosler Partitions in an Orange MMP - HPH sabot, sitting ontop of 110 grains of T7-2f - ignited by a 209 shotgun primer...

a Nosler 260 grain partition or for a less exspensive bullet a bonded Speer 250 grain Gold Dot - 110 grains of T7-2f - both of these are deadly on deer out to 150 yards..

300gr. Barnes MZ and the 300gr SST's. I used 120gr. of loose 777

348gr Black Belts. The copper plated ones; not the naked lead. I'm shooting 120gr loads of Swiss FFg and it groups into a 3 inch bull at a hundred yards.

100 grains t7-2f - 260 grain - .451 Nosler partition in a Nosler or MMP HPH-24 black sabot.
Target practice - just switch out the bullets for a compairable Hornady (expense).

I have a Rem. 700MLS. Been shooting it since late '97. Best loads are 260 grain Knight lead sabot over 100 grains Pyrodex RS or over 90 grains 2f 777; 250 grain Shockwave/SST over 100 grains 2f 777 (consistent 1.5" or better); and the 348 grain Powerbelt over 100 grains 2f 777 (this may be the best shooter of all. Haven't shot enough groups to confirm consistency) I use nothing but RWS 1075 #11 caps and see no need to change.
I have not had success with the 220 or 260 grain Dead Centers in this gun. It also does nothing great with the 250 grain Barnes copper sabots, 240 grain XTP or 300 grain XTP.Hornady 300 grain 44/45 cal XTp or XTP mag. I use the 44's because they have a better BC for down range - but either one of them shoots great.

Nosler Sabots - (both 44 or 45) they are and ugly color but work real well and go down the tube just right - no matter how many times I have shot.

100 grains of t7 - loose powder

I have found very few bulletsI couldn't get to shoot decently as long asI kept the charge under 110 of ffg T7. My most used is the 44cal/240xtp mmp green sabotwith 95gr of ffg T7 & 209W primer. 1.5" or better and has worked well on deer from 30 to 170 yards. 250 SST under 100-110gr ffg T7 also works very well if 100-200 yards is the norm when hunting.

Make sure to dis-assemble the bolt to clean after every range session.

I tried to order the bolt tool from a dealer. They were out and tried to order me one with no luck. I bought one at Gander Mountian. Last time I was in there they had a bunch of them. $10.00 and it comes with a brush, wipeing cloth and a bottle of nitro cleaner. I bought a second one Just in case.
