RE: Big Conicals
ORIGINAL: cascadedad trharder Order the Bullshop conicals and Dan will lube them for you. Here are the wad cards I have been using per UC's recommendation. From TOTW, WAD-510A. UC keeps denying it, but I still think he gets a kickback on all the Bullshop bullets and these wad cards that we buy. :D http://www.trackofthewolf.com/(S(5by5ld55xkvd0uforlc5ez55))/categories/tableList.aspx?catId=2&subId=37&styleId=11 8&PageSize=25&Page=5 Do I need to use something between the powder and bullet? Do I need to lube the Bullet? I will be shooting in an Encore. Thanks for the help. |
RE: Big Conicals
Whether you will need to do anything between the powder and the conical will have to be tested on the range.
You can use felt wads, fiber wads, 20 grains of cornmeal, or just shoot them like they come. Start with 70 grains of Triple Se7en 3f or 80 grains of Triple Se7en 2f. See what happens. Whether your encore will shoot conicals will have to be seen. I have read some posts about the QLA causing problems in that department. Good luck with your rifle. |
RE: Big Conicals
Geoffh,
I think that sounds right. I think the A&H's bore is a little on the tight side. I am going to try the .503s from Bullshop. When you start shooting your 420, be sure and post about it. I'll be curious to hear your experiances with it and be glad to help you with anything that I might have learned. Tim |
RE: Big Conicals
Thanks to all you guys. That gives me a great start. You just
can't find this sort of information from the articles by the big names. I think I know why, but I will let it go unsaid. As much as I love to deer hunt, I think I like tinkering with my ML and shooting paper just as much. It's rare to find a forum with this much participation. Thanks again, Tim |
