When I clean the gunI can run dry patches through and back just fine. Why is that? When I am shooting for recreation I will always havea dozen or so patches already pre-moistened with windex, don't think I would use solvent... Istore the pre-moistened patches in an air tight container and use then after each shot... you can do the same thing with a zip-lock bag untilyou come up with an air tight container. Hunting Ijust go with a spit patch - put the patch on my tongueand moistened it just a bit then swab the bore. The key - TheREAL key - is not to get the patches to wet... just barely damp.... I drop a pile of patches in the container pour windex out onto them get then all wet them with my Isqueeze as much windex as can back out and back into the jug. Get as much out as you can then seal the bag or close the lid... Back home I use the same windex patches to pre-clean the barrel before the real cleaning - should take 4-5 patches to pre-clean... |

Alright thanks a lot. I'll do that next time and shouldn't have a problem.

And don't forget to use rapid, short strokes as you run those patches down. Most guys find the required motion on the rod a natural thing. ;)
