RE: CVA Hunterbolt 209
My cousin just recently picked up that very model. After we took it out of the box and read the instructions that came with it, we tried it out at 55 yards for the first few shots. You could cover up three shots with a quarter!! Impressive shooting for sure!! It was the nickle version with the black composite stock in .50 caliber!!
For the money, I don't think you could do any better, group wise!! I just happen to prefer the fit and feel of the T/C Encore, but that's just me. "Spring Season....the Best"!!! |

Hey Catch!...If you're near a Bass Pro shop they're selling the CVA in-line for $79.00 this weekend. Not a bad buy for the price. I shoot the CVA Magbolt 150 and 150 gr pyrodex and a .348 gr Powerbelt Aero tip bullet...I'll let you do the math...KNOCKDOWN POWER!!!!

RE: CVA Hunterbolt 209
I just picked up the Stag Horn 209 Magnum with the nickel barrel and scope from Cabela's and couldn't be happier. All three rounds are touching at 50yds with 100gr's of powder and hollowpoint powerbelt bullets.
It's easy to shoot and even easier to CLEAN!! The only thing I don't like is the stock is a little uncomfortable for me. The butt seems to be a little too long. MassBowhunter "Climb Higher, Look Lower, Fall Asleep Less" |
RE: CVA Hunterbolt 209
I have a hunterbolt mag, i really like it.. I just got into muzzleloading and didnt want to spend a fortune. It came with features usually only found in more expensive guns. Havent killed with it yet but like shooting it and so far it is pretty accurate

RE: CVA Hunterbolt 209
The UPS guy showed up today with my new Hunterbolt 209. I'll be heading out to pick up bullets, powder, etc this weekend. Thanks to everyone for their input.
