RE: Hang fire with new Triple 7 primers

I only use T7 primers and have never experianced any hang fires. It feels like they are more weather tight or moisture proof to me than any other I have used. Im sure that that is just because they look a little different.

RE: Hang fire with new Triple 7 primers

I've been experiencing that with remington kleenbore primers with pyrodex rs as the main charge. I can hear the primer go off and then the charge. I switched to CCI primers and was back in action. I also noticed the "kleenbore" primers gave me a horrible amount of blowback and fouling. From now on im sticking with all the older "original" stuff. This new and better stuff they come out with each year is alla scam that takes care of one problem and then leaves you with another.

ORIGINAL: Redtail565

I bought all new stuff this year. I got the triple 7 50/50 powder, 295 powerbelt bullets and the winchester triple7 209 primers for muzzleloaders. I was getting hang fires. About the first 6 shots before I switched to the 209 for shotshell hung. After I switched to the other primer I didn't have any more problems.

Anyone else have this problem?

I just tried those primers out and haven't had a single problem in 50 shots.I was using loose powder of course. They go off readily at the drop of a hammer.
