My aunt is visiting from Manatoba and she and her husband need new m/l but what they have to pay where they live is incredible. I can't even give them a rifle because of their laws.

I need some help from Canadian gun shops on how I can outfit these folks. Like I said I would even give them a couple of my rifles if I could.

I dont know what kind of guns your talking about but if its a muzzleloader they can go and pick one up in the US and bring it back no problem at all or you bring one for him he just needs to get it verified by a gun verifier and register it end of the problem atleast here in ontario thats how it works I can see it beeing differnt there, I baught all my muzzleloader in the US between myself and family 6 so far..cant beat the price

I do not mean to be rude, but "TOO BAD". They voted those idiots in, now let them live with it. Canada sucks. I went there for 18 straight years, and I will never go back. They do not like Americans, only our money. It costs money to even take a rifle into their country. They can have it. I hope there is no confusion as to how I feel.

All American hunter's should stick together, and not go back until they change their laws. When our money dried up they would change their laws. Tom.

Sorry but I totally disagree. As I said, I have been there 18 times. Normally to Ontario in the Timmins and North bay area. A couple of times in New Brunswick. Also Vancouver, and Quebec. Mostly fishing trips, but a few hunting trips. I will admit I might have been a little harsh about some of the Canadians being rude,but I did run into some that only wanted the quick buck.

And how can you possibly deny the anti-hunting laws. Especially in Ontario. And how can you deny the anti-gun ways of the country. And can you deny the tariff to bring a firearm into the country. As I said, the Canadians elected the people who put these laws into effect. And if we are not careful in America, then we will have your laws here real soon. I am afraid we are headed the same way considering the last election when "we" elected a full house of Democrat gun hating liberals into the Senate and House. If we are not careful we will end up with Hillary as president and we might as well start brushing up our sling shots as that is all that will be left legal if she gets in. I can not understand where all the gun owners and hunters are when the elections are happening. Maybe they were allout hunting and didn't have time to vote.

I avoid polictical commentary only because I find it does no good. People vote the way they feel will best serve their nation and views. While I may or may not agree with someone views, it really makes no difference. If I have views or an agenda then it talk to my political people in office.

Pittsburghunter, it's a shame there is not a way you could not somehow get them rifles into Canada with out costing an arm and a leg. I have no idea how the laws in Canada read. It's been years since I have been up there hunting and fishing, but I have to admit the people up there were great. I always had a wonderful time.

Muzzleloaders are not considered a firearm. I did not know Canada was that way.

The reason I get in an uproar(I know I should not) is simple. Five of us went on a bear hunt in two vehicles. We had to pay a tariff to take our rifles(not ML's) into the country. My friend in the other truck(there were two people in their truck) was denied entrance with a firearm, because he had a DUI conviction. I repeat he was denied entrance. We had to drive back to Erie, and drop off two rifles. We crossed the next day, and two of them were without their rifles. Fortunately the guide had a couple of extra rifles.

Canada accepted his money for the hunt. Canada accepted his money for the license. Canada did not accept him. Now a draft dodger or a soldier who is AWOL can go to Canada and be accepted, actually even encouraged. But no DUI's. Cayugad is right, this is not a political sight.
