Difference Between Percussion Caps and

I went to the gun shop yesterday to price thingsI need for my first muzzle loader hunt this week and asked if they had any 209 primers, the lady behind the counter said they only have percussion caps?? numbers 10 and 11. I use a Traditions Ebolt 50 cal. Are percussion caps the same as a primer???????? If they are does anyone know what number I would need? Or do you suggest using primers? A quick response woudl be nice as i need to know by 200 when i leave for work so i know what i need to pick up and where i need to go to get them.

No, they are not the same. Number 10 caps are used mostly with cap and ball revolvers. Number 11 caps are used with some in-line and with most traditional muzzleloaders. Musket caps have "wings" and are used with some in-line and traditional muzzleloaders. You want 209 shotgun or muzzleloader primers.

Be very carefulregarding the trigger on that E-Bolt. Been alot of incidents where the ML has fired without any fingers in the trigger guard. I don't recall what/where the defective source is. It' been 3-4 years since the rash occured.
