Good post grizzly! Small washcloths or dish rags to stuff in the action hole while cleaninga non-removeablebarrel & remaining action parts on two bolt-actions I own - prevents crap from falling down in the trigger area &creating havoc there.

Just a note about the hit you got: fatty tissue and stiff white hair sounds like a brisket shot to me. There's quite a bit of fat right under the skin on the sternum of a deer and that's about what you get with a hit there. I wouldn't worry about the deer dying with that kind of wound. Since you didn't find any blood to speak of, I would be pretty sure it will survive OK.
Hope you get the gun issue resolved.

Yep it is the trigger. Factory recomends cleaning trigger with electrical connector cleaner(will not leave a residue). I believe this is similar to brake cleaner, but not sure. Spray it in there heavy, then I use a can of compressed air to spray it out. Factory recomends not to oil at all after cleaning. It is the oil that collects the dust, and the residue. I actually have two spare triggers. Remember the Knight has the best trigger, but it does need TLC. I would sell them both for $75 shipped, if anybody wants them. Tom.
I do not know why the picture did not come up. I can e-mail one if someone wants to see them.
