Nice going and congrats on the buck.
Hope none are left with the impression they should aim low on aclose-up shot with a rifle. That would never be the case (if the rifle was sighted in at all).

That is sweet
I got to shoot a doe at that range this year with my xbow and my 7yr old son was right beside me to see it all, there's nothin like being close enough to kiss before you pull the trigger. Nice job on both.

Ok guys/gals took my son hunting with me today. We started out hunting same stand I've been hunting all year butfrom theground. I use a self climber so I can't climb with a partner. The bucks are crazy here right now ruts in overdrive so being a little more mobile did'nt bother me, grabed my rattling horns and started still huntingtoward the bedding grounds as soon as it got light enough to move quietly. We jumped a doe as we creeped up the ridgetopwedidn't let that bother us to much. We dopped down to the creek bedwere the spring comes out at thetop of the hollow, from there you can watch about 150 yards of a pipeline all grassand about 20 yards wide. The ridge on the left is whereIhang my stand, onthe right thebedding grounds. Most of the time the bucks would be all fat and happy in there bedding area but since the ruts inI figured there might be a few late comers thathave to cross that pipeline and if they were already there I thought I might be able to persuade them with a little horn rubbing. We sat down about 8:30 shot the buck 8:45 didn't even get a chance to rattle. Thenwhile field dressing this buck another 6 or 8 pointer watched from about 50 yards for couple of minutes.
Heres a picture I took of the bedding ridge from my stand the last trip, if you look through the close branches you can see the
tree tops
Shot- 70 yards,Gun -50cal.KnightWolverine209, Powder- 70gr Triple7, Bullets - 285grUltimate Slam SeriesSBT
