Default New Black Powder Pellet?

An older friend of mine was telling me about a new type of powder that comes in a pellet that isn't pyrodex and isn't 777. He claims that it isn't completely round and it is more square shaped.

Does anyone know what he may have been referring to? Is it really new or just new to him?

Thanks

Tom

Like said, APP comes in stick form. Each stick if it has not broken apart is supposed to be 50 grains. This is not a new powder or concept. The sticks have been around for some time now. Personally I shoot a lot of loose powder. I do have some Pyrodex Pellets at the house and must admit they are fun to experiment with though.

How does the AP Sticks compare to 777? Compared to Pyrodex?

Thanks

I would think/speculate that APP pellets in wider bore dimensions would further detriment energy levels of the powder.... may also enhance moisture development in bores where deep concave breechplugs are present.

Just a guess/observation/gut feeling. No scientific evidence to confirm it.
