I just checked the Michigan reg's and they say you can use any black powder (or BP sub) muzzleloading rifle or pistol for deer. No size restrictions.
Kinda funny, they restrict CF handguns to .35 cal or larger, but no restrictions on BP.
Oh well, we've always known our DNR doesn't always do things according to logic .

From the Mich DNR Firearm & Bow rules: [*]A muzzleloading rifle or black powder handgun must be loaded with black powder or a commercially manufactured black powder substitute. "
That's it. You may recall when Mich. only allowed Black Powder and Round Ball (as I do). Now, the above reg. is all it says. I guess the rest is up 2 U.
