Awesome group UC. Sub MOA in the horizontal. The verticle is spread but precisely what one may expect with velocity spread of 150 fps. I couldn't help but to speculate which shots you swabbed between, but then, I could figure it out at all.

Happy Hunting, Phil

Thanks Phil. The simple answer about swabbing - there was none. :D That's the beauty of a White rifle. Load and shoot, again and again. My guess regarding the reason for most of the vertical spreadwould still primarily be seating pressure differences - I'll try to do better next time I take the .451 out.

I've got some of Bullshop's 500 and 560 grain .504 conicals to try along with a couple of other bullets my next go around. He also sent a few of his .451 450 grain Whitworth conicals. All of them look like shooters but I aint real crazy about going over the 500 grain mark!

TooTall (posts on a couple of forums I visit) sent me some really nice conicals to try. These were from a new mold he had got in from Mountain Molds. That mold will very likely be heading up north to Bullshop. Posted my first efforts with that conical in Cayugad's "Done it again" thread.

Chuck Hill (Big6x6) shot some of those same bullets out of one of his Whites. Think he found the sweet spot. Here is a copy of what he posted:

"Wednesday I had to go to the range to sight in Terrells Disc Elite for the hog hunt..No Problem! I took along the White 97 .45 just to pop off a few shots. I fouled the bore as normal and then shot three, 3-shot groups at 100yds. Load was 80gr by volume fffg Triple Se7en and the 420gr Bullshop .451 conical. You can tell which group was which because I was moving the w/e adjustment from high at 100yds to dead on at 100yds just in case someone wants to pop a hog with it at close range. First groups was lower right, then lower left, then center. Group sizes in that order is 0.97, 0.99, and 0.63! If I'm not mistaken, that is the three smallest, most uniform groups I've shot in that rifle! I've shot single groups that were smaller, but never any three that were that consistant. Average velocity was 1387fps."
