What a great day
Yesterday I got up early and went to the range. Today would be the first day shooting my .44 BP pistol. When I got to the range I was happy to find out the two range officers that day were also the NRA BP guys that teach all the classes you can take.
Well the range was empty so the three of us loaded up, I loaded my 44 with 22 grains, a lubed wad, and a hornady ball. # 11 cap pulled the hammer and BOOM I was hooked !!! a puff of smoke and a hole dam near dead center on my targer. Spent the rest of the morning shooting. The range officer let me shoot his 50 cal flintlock pistol WOW that was nice. Thanks for answering all my questions over the last month, I got out to the range and did not look like a total noob :) USMC |
RE: What a great day
usmcColorado,
Sounds like your hooked alright:D Yesterday was nasty here in N. Illinois and I debatedif I should go or not. I'm glad I got off the couch and went. Any day you can get to the range is a good one. I might have to get out my .44 BP revolver myself this afternoon....sounds like fun. |
RE: What a great day
sounds like you had a great time and some great teachers to boot.. luck was with you that day. Good luck shooting. Sounds like you have a good shooting revolver.

RE: What a great day
I am still amazed at how straight I was shooting, and this 44 seems to love the 22 grains, I was worried at first it may not be enough but it sure did the trick

RE: What a great day
I shoot 25 grains on my .44 New Army model which has target sights on it, and it is extremely accurate to shoot.

RE: What a great day
A few other folks showed up to the range and the three of us were having a grand old time smoking out the line.
