Default Encore 209x50 Extractor Question

Any of you folks who hunt witha muzzleloading Encore, have you kept
on the original Exractor, replaced original with an E-Z Tip Extractor, or
simply done away with the Extractor all together???

I putthe EZon my Encore. makes breach plug removal EASY. Especialy if your you plan on haveing an extra long range session. Very nice not haveing to pull the barrel off if youneed to do a thurough cleaning. It seems to pull the spent 209's rather nice. Long story short worth the 14.00.

Save the 14.00! Took off the extractor as well.Spent primersits up nice and easy to remove without the extractor.
Only if you are in cold weather with heavy gloves is it a problem.

Well heck, I didn't even think of taking the extractor out altogether!! could have saved me 14.00 to put towards some powder!! Live and learn, and read lots of post on the black powder forums!!

I have one of the flip over one's. Works great, no problem's.
The idea of taking one completely out probably works great too.

Mine's a .45 but it's had its extractor pulled since the first time I disassembled the rifle. Once in agreat long while you might have a primer that takes a bit more than your fingernails to remove but generally they come out easily. A small pocket knife easily handles any that might be difficult. I've only encountered those few sticky ones after a considerable number of shots at the range.

You hit the nail on the head. I've spent more than enough money on BP/ML gimics that mayhave some sort of a function but aren'tneeded. The 'flip-down-extractor' is just one of them. Thought that wasthe neastest thing since sliced breadformy Encore and laterI readon an oldpost that the extractor isn't needed. My only excuse wasthat I have a bad habit of biting my nails. Although I must admit ML gimics don't hold a candle to thefishing tackle world of gimics.

I bought the EZ, I like it and felt it was a justified purchase.

Lets not exclude the turkey and deer hunting world of gimics HAHAHA some of the stuff they come out withjustmakes you laugh!!!

One that always sticks out inmy mind is that turkey locator whistle, the Drury boys came out with. HAHA you take this here dog whistle and blow it. The high frequenzy makes them gobblers go nuts!!!
