Sabotloader - thanks for the advice
#1
I received the 50 caliber MPH-24 sabots today as well as the Speer 300 gr. gold dots and 250 gr. Hornady XPTs. I took the breech plug out and loaded both bullets using the new sabots in my "tight" Omega. The sabot/bullet combination was a perfect fit. They slid down the barrel with only a moderate amount of force on the ramrod, and I didn't need the short starter as I previously did with the MPH-12s. Thanks for the great advice and helping me find the proper sabot/bullet combination for this gun. Now I can't wait go get out and see how they shoot.
The great thing about this board is that I have learned in only three months what would have taken me years to find out through trial and error.
Thanks again.

Awesome!
Now a couple of other thoughts - this might not be kosher - but when I load the sabot I spin the sabot in my mouth to put a light layer of saliva around the outside of the cup of the sabot -just enough to get it started. The friction of pushing it down will dry most of it.
Second if you do encounter problems loading; the Harvester "crush rib" will ease that problem abunch.
Good luck and Good Shooting -the actual shooting is the best, I love it
