OK MY WIFE IS RIGHT AGAIN!!

IF YOU ASK MY WIFE SHE WILL TELL YOU SOMETIMES
I NEED THE OLD 2X4 UP SIDE MY HEAD TO SEE THINGS
CLEARLY. I'M LOOKING TO BUY A NEW ML. I REALLY
LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE TC OMEGA BLACK & BLUE
WITH THE THUMBHOLE STOCK. THAT BEING SAID , HERE'S
MY QUESTION, I LIKE 777 PELLETS, POWERBELTS,
AND THE NEW REM. KLEENBORE PRIMERS. CAN THE
OMEGA BE MADE TO SHOOT THIS COMBINATION WELL.
ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

It will do all of that and more - We can not use them out here in the Pacific Northwest, but If we could I would probably have one.

RE: OK MY WIFE IS RIGHT AGAIN!!

Well I took the plunge today. I bought the TC Omega
Stainless/with Synthetic thumbhole stock. Shoulders
great hope to get out & shoot it Monday. Well monday
turned into Saturday. I gotthe Omega at the range
today. With open sights I was consistently in a8"
circle at 70yds. I had a few flyers is this normal or
should I chaulk it up tooperator error? I was using
2-50gr. 777 pellets and some 250 shockwaves, primed
with a kleenbore 209 primer; Omega with 28" ss
barell. I also tried some powerbelt hollow-points it
shot them fairly well but not great. The shockwaves
loaded with some difficulty but as the day wore-on
seemed to load easier. I was running a patch with
50/50 washer & alcohol solution then 2 dry between
shots. Hope to get out again and try and improve
the groups. Also on the CD that came with the
Omega they are really firm believers in bore butter,
that it helps season the barrel. Any coments?
I really want to thank all who tried and help this old
man enjoy his new toy.

whether it shoots powerbelts, only the rifle will know for sure. My Black Diamond Xr for instance only does a moderate job with powerbelts. That rifle I would shoot some 200 & 250 grain SST's for taking game. If I had to shoot a conical it would be a 460 grain No Excuse Conical.

by the way, congratulations on your new rifle.... it sounds like a dandy.

I had not really heard the PB thing in conjuction with the Omega, but I can not imagine that it would not shoot it some what decently.

The only real knock I have heard is trigger finger room and some really tight barrels that make it difficult to load some sabots...

Can you shoot sabots in your state during ML season?

sabotloader: I guess we are lucky here in West Kentucky
we can use any bullet combination we want to also
we can use scopes. I too have heard about the tight
barrels on some Omegas, thats why I like the
powerbelts they seem to load easy, and I took a really
nice 5-pointer this year with 225gr.powerbelt. again
thanks to all God Bless you all with a Happy New Year.

In Idaho we can use sabots - but no scopes - no 209's... And I do not see it changing any time soon - in fact the whole Pacific Northwest is no 209's.

If you get around to trying sabot/bullet combinations I would suggest you stay with TC sabots, MMP HPH-12 or Harvester Sabots. Harvester is now producing a new sabot that is called a "Crush Rib" it really loads easy in my inlines.

If you try the PB's and you not happy shout again and we and/or others can help you get started with sabots.

My wife was right once, too. When I bought a double bbl BP rifle she told me "now you can miss them two times instead of just once". Turned out to be true. I never could get that thing to shoot right.

RE: OK MY WIFE IS RIGHT AGAIN!!

i would get a flintlock. using the in-lines is like shooting a regular rifle ,in a way.its more fun with flintlock and more of challenge. i think we are getting away from the real fun of black powder shooting and hunting. i like open sights on my tc hawkins .50 cal flintlock. my eyes are not as good but with the RMC V-PEEP, i can see a lot better.now, if my eyes were real bad and no way to shoot a open sight, i would be thinking a little different. most of the ones i see buying the in-lines are young kids with great eyes. some need every advantage to kill a deer. trust me, a flintlock is more fun, looks goodand it does kill deer as much as in-line. take care.
