Default First BP Buck - thanks all!

Using Omega with 3-9x40 Bushnell Elite scope, 2x50 grain 777 pellets pushing a 300 grain Hornady SST.

Didn't really need the scope, since I took him at 30 yards The SST went in exactly where I put the crosshair.

I was baiting a bear with donuts, sitting on the ground behind some log, and this guy showed up instead and started to eat the donuts. I couldn't have that !!!

He was quartering towards, so I shot him in his right chest. Small entry hole, no exit. Didn't find bullet, so I asked the butcher to hold on to it if he finds it. Very little blood trail, but didn't need to track - he fell over 15 yards from the spot, after running back and forth and smashing his head against the trees so hard he shed both antlers (he was a 7 pointer by the way).

Thank you everyone on this board for the very helpful information !

Black Bellamy,
You just gave meone real good reason why I shouldn't eat donuts while I'm in thewoods
Congratulations on the 1st of many bucks with your T/C Omega. I love those laminated thumbhole stocks and it's just about as good l@@k'n as your buck.LOL
I see that you're using a safety harness.....good for you!

I do use a harness every time, but this time I only put it on later, so I could pull the sled with the deer much easier (it was a big help).

I didn't wear it for the hunt because I was mainly out looking for bear, and New Jersey prohibits bear baiting unless you are on the ground, and also not in a blind or any kind of manually constructed anything. Unless you are 100 yards away from the bait, then all gloves are off.
