RE: greasing sabots and accuracy?

Toby,

The problem with the color system is that it is not a recognized standard - manufacturers are not bound by it. It is very possible that Hornady & other companies have their own standards for color coding. All I've shot of the Hornady's are the 300gr XTP Mags and those are .452 cal bullets and the sabots are made for them by MMP......so the "black " I spoke of works on that.......but I 've not seen any of their non-Mag offerings in .50cal to compare too.

So.....don't base your bullet decisions on color (afterall, do you buy a car just because it is black or green?). Most all of the packages are usually marked with the bullet diameter so look for it. And check the manufacturers' websites, they often have it listed there too.

"Every moving thing that liveth, I give unto you as meat" (Gen 9:3)

Trust God..........but keep your powder dry!

Do not grease your sabots.

I have green sabots that use 44 cal pistol bullets. The can take 150 grains of 2F.
