CVA Optima Pro

Hey Guys,
My nephew has a brand new Optima. At the range yesterday, it was good
at 50 yds but sprayed at 100. He is a little dejected about it. He was shooting 100 gr 777 pellets and 245 grain powerbelts. Anyideas on
correcting this?

Thanks,
WOD in VA

1) Shoot a box of conicals to smooth outany rifling burrs in yourbore. Maxiballs, Great Plains, Ballets... these or similar will do.

2) A heavier Powerbelt (295s).
Make sure you turn the Powerbelt plastic skirt a few times -- even take it off & put it back on a few times to loosen it.

3) Buy some 30-grain pellets & try 80 - 90 - 110 -120 grains also.

4) Try a couple of different sabot/bullets in different weights. Good inexpensive choices with a nice variety are the Hornady XTP 300 grain and the T/C Cheapshot 240 grain.

5) Use two ramrods. One has a jag for seating the bullet -- the other has a bore brush for swabbing. Use plain Windex & brush-swab after every 2nd shot.

RE: CVA Optima Pro

Power belts never grouped that well with my CVA. I am shooting 90 grains of 777 and a hornady 300 grain XTP and groups well.
