RE: which muzzleloader?

I would definitely go with a breech action model (any brand probably ok). They are easy to use, break down, clean, etc. I would also suggest, if just starting ou, to go with a less expensive gun. I have a Rossi and it is great (cost me $180.00). NEF and H&R make basically the same gun for about the same price. The others mentioned above are greta guns, I'm sure, but make sure you stay in your budget and save some money for bulets and pellets.

Go with the omega. I just got one with the laminate thumbhole stock and the fluted barrel. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

I know I'll be getting the gun mentioned directly above when I can afford one. I don't know anyone with an omega who hasn't liked it.

I searched around the internet and found it for $539 it included shipping. Through my experience you might as well wait until you have the funds to purchase the gun you want. Otherwise you will not be satisfied with it.

alright so today i went out and handled some guns. was very impressed with the tompson encores and omegas. The encore is way pricey for me right now, but the omega was like $380, granted it was black on black, which isnt my first choice. They didn't have a NEF but the did have a Rossi and i wasnt that impressed with it. I didnt get to handle a Knight so those of you who have compared what is your opinions b/t the omega and knight persay the revolution or same level gun. These guns arent cheap still but i dont wanna have to do this all over in a few years. just wanna get a gone im gonna be happy with for a long time. thanks

bdbwtie101,
I just picked up the T/C Omega Z5 for $269 after doing some research and from advice on this forum. It appears to be a good value.
The gun only comes in black on black but I assume that you can get a different stock on it down the road if you want (am I right guys?)
Anyway, I just got the gun and have only had 2 shooting sessions with it. It is my first ML so I really had nothing to compare it to. I can tell you though that it was a joy to shoot and very easy to clean between shots and when i cleaned it for storing.
