Hey Cayugad do you use a .44 cal cap and ball blackpowder revolver or a regular modern pistol?
I have a black powder cap and ball .44 caliber. I bought it at Cabela's. It is the target model F.L. Lippeta. 25 grains a wonder wad and a .451 roundball. Actually if I can get leaned into a tree at one sitting in a snow bank I can usually pop them... with in reason. :D

I sometimes hunt them with .22 caliber revolvers and pistols also.

I also bought the http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20712&rid=&i ndexId=cat20817&navAction=push&navCount=1& amp;parentType=index&parentId=cat20817&id= 0006186
1851 Confederate Navy, .44 Caliber Revolver from Cabelas about 15-20 years ago. It's fun to shoot every once in a while, but I'm really into rifles at this point in my life. Here's a night photo with my .44 revolver. They sure spit some fire.

I didn't think that 25 grains would spit out a round ball, lol. I may have to try that and see what goes. Thanks.

Well Charlie it works just fine out of my sidelock percussion cap CVA Bobcat. If I remember my brother in law used the same load out of his CVA Optima Pro and took some bunnies also. Give it a try it's fun.
