I use 50cal pyrodex pellets in my knight muzzleloader, my question is, is it possible to switch to 45 cal pyrodex pellets, my knight is a .50cal. what difference would this make as far as accuracy? Would the 45's have enough power to push the .50 cal sabot + bullet out? I'm just curious, + there are a lot of knowlageable people on this site + I'm sure I'll get a few responses.

I personally think it would effect the accuracy of the rifle. If this would be of no effect to the rifle and the accuracy, what would be the use of the powder company making the different sizes. If you shoot a .50 I would load .50 caliber pellets. Personally, I have never shot pellets other then tried a friends rifle a few times with HIS pellets..

I've shot loads were the pellets and bullets were not seated properly. In every instance the recoil to markedly greater and sharper. This probably wouldn't create a dangerous situationin this circumstancebut why take the chance.
