Default .36 caliber percussion squirrel rifle

Gents,

I have recently acquired a .36 caliber percussion squirrel rifle. It is my first blackpowder weapon. I have hunted extensively with moderm firearms but am interested in going back to the days of yesteryear.

I have an italian made reproduction rifle. Would this take a #11 size nipple? I did not know whether there is a standard nipple for a standard caliber.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Yes in most cases it will take a #11 cap. The #10 caps usually are found on the black powder cap and ball revolvers. The Italian rifles are normally Pedersolli or Lyman. Seeing the caliber I would guess a Pedersolli. They are normally excellent rifles.
