RE: Determination!
Well spoken skeeter, I also have a handicapped daughter and it's this kind of trash that gets my hackles up real quick. My daughter will never live on her own, let alone do some of the things in life that we all take for granted. She faces adversity every day of her life but will win the heart of anyone willing to take the time to get to know her. I've learned a lot about life from her and she continues to teach me to be thankful for all that I can do and to live life to the fullest. I intend to do just that!
People who attack the handicapped are "losers", plain and simple! |
RE: Determination!
Hunter 59, I am truly sorry to hear about your daughter. I feel for you and agree 100 % whole heartily.
Best of luck, keep on counting the blessing and enjoy everything she brings to life. My thoughts/prayers are with you and your family! |

RE: Determination!
So let me get this right... anyone who pays a guide, or pays a landowner to cross his land, or hunts on his own ranch is not a "true hunter" by your definition. Hum, I've hunted canada...and as I'm sure most are aware for a non resident to hunt canada they must hunt with a guide. Much the same as the wilderness areas of Wyoming. So I suppose that I'm not a hunter. I quess my elk is not a trophy. I guess that someone else who hiked up that mountain, pulled myself over the cliff. I guess someone else slept on the side of that mountain. I guess that was someone else packing him out on their back. I guess I'm no hunter at all.

ShatoDavis, next time you want to give up your tag so easily give me a hollar.

RE: Determination!
ShatoDavis, mamboy has a serious case of AE and most likely suffers from NSF. Therefore he must resort to the tactics he has shown off so marvelously in this post to make himself feel superior for his personal position however clearly has never been on any other side of the coin, so his comments are not of experience and really hold no relevancy. Basically just blowin' it out his A$$....big suprise now has gone MIA! [:'(]

RE: Determination!
what the hell are AE and NSF??????
guess im clueless. i can see what manboy was saying, and while im not sure i agree with this being the time or place to say it, part of it rings true to me, i dont like high fence hunting (not that this partucular elk was high fence, i know it wasnt), and i do value my trophies more that i have worked harder for, even if their headgear was smaller than others ive shot. that being said, im happy as hell for this kid, i dont want to lose a leg, and cant imagine how difficult this would be minus one. just my thoughts. gotta steal this next line from whoever said it, its freakin hilarious... BE A MAN, NOT A MANBOY!!!!!!! brad |

any memory that a child has is our responsabilty to try are best to make it positive .hugs + smiles+and a pat on the back great job no mater what there doing . when someones life is cut short and there faced with outnumbering odds they need all the FRIENDS they can get Just two days ago, a 23 year old committed suicide just 15 miles away from here. I here he drank anti-freeze because his girlfriend broke up with him. What's wrong with this world that a kid even considers suicide because of something that occupies such a small part of a human life! Didn't this kid have anything in life to hold on to when times get rough? We all share part of the blame in this! Pat a kid on the back and tell him great job whenever you can. You never know when you may save his life! |
RE: Determination!
that is so tragic hunter_59 sad story. its all to true to often
i had a brother who was living in kelona b.c back in 94 he did the same thing over a broken marriage except he used a hunting rifle to take his own life left behind two young daughters[&o] |
RE: Determination!
I think quite a few of us would agree with the spirit of Manboy's message (or at least parts of it), but the timing and delivery were completely out of line. I doubt anyone had any misplaced illusions of this young boy spending days trekking through the mountains in search of this fine trophy. We all understand that there are limitations to his hunting abilities.
