Hello, I am needing some suggestions on how to sell an elk rack that I have. It is an American Typical Elk that I recently had scored. The antlers grossed 405 5/8 and with deductions have a final score of 398 2/8 B&C. The elk was killed in Wyoming around the early 1900's.
The antlers have an official score sheet, however, I have not yet turned it into the Records Dept, meaning that the buyer can claim the antlers as their own in the books. According to the Records Books, the elk would have been 4th in the world at the time of the kill.
The antlers have been stained in order to preserve them, but other than that, they are in great shape for being over 100 years old.
If anyone can give tips or suggestions on how to get the best possible price for the rack or if anyone is interested in buying them, please email me at [email protected]
Thank you.

From what i understand about the trophy antler market, as soon as the right people are aware that you have this rack you should have no shortage of good offers. Try advertising on some outdoor sites or other acceptable venues.

I would love to have a rack like that, but know their out of my range. I heard that a bull taken here a few years ago (I think he grossed428) was traded for two brand new dodge pick-ups, plus a full size replica for his wall, dont know if thats true or not. If that gives you any idea what its worth. You also might look into displaying them at a spot w/ lots of traffic, local gun shop, sporting goods store, ect... with a for sale sign on them. Maybe you could make replicas and sell the replicas.
